“God Love Her” by Toby Keith

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. With my new job switch I actually had to work all weekend. But it works out because now I have Monday’s off. And that sounds like a fair deal to me.

This week’s song was actually sent to me and I decided I had to make it the song of this week. And yes, it was sent to me by my boy. I made him read my post and I think he actually took something away from it. It made me feel all giddy again playing music videos for each other sitting on his couch.  [I’ve totally fallen for this guy]

She always had a thing
About fallin’ in love with a bad boy

She’s a rebel child
And a preacher’s daughter
She was baptized in dirty water
Her mama cried the first time
They caught her with me
They knew they couldn’t stop her

She holds tight to me and the Bible
On the back seat of my motorcycle
Left her daddy standin’ there
Preachin’ to the choir
You see…God love her
Oh me and God love her

With amazing grace
We made California line
And then my gypsy life
Started takin’ it’s toll
And the fast lane got empty
And out of control
And just like an angel
She saved my soul from the devil

This song is so like our relationship that it’s cute. Did you read my bad boy article? He’s got the bad boy reputation. I am pretty much a preacher’s daughter. My dad is incredibly religious and I guess you could say that I’ve rebelled a bit. His motorcycle was wrecked earlier this season when he and I were supposed to go out for a ride but I have no doubt that by next season he’ll have a new bike that I’ll be able to hold tight to him on.

For the first time in a long time I’m happy again. And that’s a really great feeling. There’s still a lot of stuff that I need to work through to bring my best self to this relationship. But I have no doubt that everything will work out. I want this relationship to work.

xoxo
