When all else fails….

….send me music videos with lyrics that you wish you could say. Sometimes saying what you want or how you feel is difficult. And as everyone already knows, I love song lyrics, there’s always a song that has lyrics that I can send to someone when I have no words to say.

I know this is kinda cheesy. I think it started back when you were able to send clips of songs to your friends- unfortunately this is no longer an app (like the daily fortune cookie, that was awesome….) so you’ll have to take my word for it. Well, back then…when I was in high school….my best friend Daniel sent me a song while I had mono. I actually heard the song today- and every time I hear it I blast it on my radio because it brings back the good ol’ days when everything just seemed to work itself out. Now, I can bet you all are dying to know what the song is so I won’t keep you waiting long….so just go ahead and click here.

And if you didn’t want to listen to the song (then you’re lame!) it was Smooth by Santana featuring Rob Thomas. So that song has always been kinda special to me. And that’s not the only time this ever happened. My high school boyfriend, Andy, and I would send songs to each other constantly when we were AOL instant messaging (talk about a flashback right there- why did we ever stop using that lol???). I can’t even tell you how many songs we sent to each other. Even after we broke up when I went to college we would AIM and send each other songs like “I miss you but we can’t be together” or “Come home because I miss and love you” or “I want us to end up together” and well, I think you get it. This eventually led us to getting back together- how could we not when he kept sending me this video? The relationship didn’t last but my memories of us sending each other songs will last forever. Girly. I know. But this is the way to my heart. Seriously. I melt whenever a guy sends me a song because he’s thinking of me or it pertains to us.

So there it is. The secret to my heart. It has to be relevant though. Don’t send me some rap song about doing blow off a stripper’s ass. That’s a sure fire way to get me uninterested in you. You will get big kudos if the song is from an independent artist because I love those and the likelihood of me having previously heard that song is rare. Don’t get me wrong, you can send me mainstream songs, but then you’re running the risk that someone else sent me the song and it’s gonna trigger some memory that you may not want me having- unless of course they’re new songs. Just saying.

xoxo
