Day 5: Post to Be

posttobeI had to pick this quote because it’s just so funny. And in this day and age it is so true! With the invention of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the like, you can literally make yourself whoever you want to be. There are some people out there that use social media to encourage others or help out with some cause. And then there are “those people”. We all have a few in our friends list. The ones who want you to think their life is so absolutely, unbelievably perfect and amazing that it is just that- not even a little bit believable.

I know a few people like this, and the funny thing is, their pictures don’t even upset me anymore because I know the truth. And with this thought in mind, it helps me to be a lot less jealous of other people. I get it, some people really are rich and famous, but they all have problems and insecurities too – probably even more because they have the whole world ready to criticize them at any given moment.

My boss is obsessed with The Fashionable Hostess because she thinks her life is absolutely perfect. However, this exact same boss took a supervisor call from this woman. My boss said that Amanda, the fashionable hostess, was incredibly rude and mean to her. So yeah, maybe her life does look great on the internet, but that doesn’t mean she’s a great person. Or hey, maybe she is but she doesn’t have the perfect life. I don’t know one way or the other- but there is always more than meets the eye. And the grass is not always greener on the other side. The grass is green where you water it. So keep watering your own life and don’t worry as much about others.
